Earlier this year, the Vanity Fair senior editorial team reached out for a project collaboration in New York. They worked together with digitalundivided to identify and feature 26 Black women who’ve raised over $1M in venture funding for their April 2018 issue.

The Spotlight photo and accompanying caption ( written by Margot Lee Shetterly, author of Hidden Figures ) celebrates my success–and the success of my fellow entrepreneurs–while calling attention to the scarcity of funding available to female founders of colour.

Photographer Mark Seliger, known for his Vanity Fair Oscar Party portraits took the monumental photograph!

History was made on this day… Women Making History!
